After spending 4 years aboard the 50 meter Perini Navi ...Is A Rose and SY Phyrne, 3 years aboard Antara as Mate and 2 years aboard Hyperion, Barney is an MCA approved Captain and has taken over command of Antara. Barney has a depth of understanding of Perini Navi sailing boats that only comes from spending time onboard and years under sail. Having circumnavigated the globe on the 50-meter ketch, Phryne, he is obviously enjoying his environment, as Antara is his third Perini Navi. Barney has been a wilderness/multi-activity instructor both in the US and UK. With this background devoted to outdoor activities and water sports, particularly Diving, he will see you safe in any endeavor you may undertake on the water. When on vacation Barney enjoys traveling, sailing, hiking, climbing, and fishing.

First Mate: Jordi Gonzalez Forti

Jordi began sailing in 2009 and completed the Nautical and Maritime Transport Diploma in 2013 studying in Spain & Norway. With the "Master Unlimited" license, he has experience in search and rescue operations, passenger ships among others as well as wide experience in management due to his active collaboration with a marine consultancy company since 2013, attending several audits, in companies, ships and terminals. Jordi is considered a hard-working person who is committed to achieving the best results in any given challenge. His discipline, planning and own methodology are the key to the success in his work.


Chef: Matteo Tommasi

Matteo attended the Etoile Culinary Academy in Venice, Italy then the Bas Basian Bartender School in London, UK. He also had the opportunity to complete the Finger Food training course held by Chef Umberto Cavina while working as Chef in prestigious restaurants/wine bars, including the 5 stars yacht club restaurant of Trieste, Italy. Matteo then took the opportunity to travel and work at sea in 2006 and had numerous experiences as head chef on board superyachts up to 60m. His creativity and passion, as well as a keen eye for detail and excellent presentation make Matteo a great asset to the team.


Chief Stewardess: Talitha Slaughter-Hudson

Tali has a solid background in hospitality and nearly four years in the private yachting industry. She has been a strong second stew on boats and upgraded to Chief Stewardess thanks to her high-standard service, her determination and managerial skills. Her experience has given her strong multi-tasking and organisational skills that have benefitted her on and off charter. She is particularly interested in working with a crew whom she can learn from and grow. Tali is quite versatile since she also has creativity in table design and decoration, floral arrangement, nanny and childcare. In addition to this, she is an Advanced Massage Therapist – Level 5 and provides multiple cares including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Thai Yoga Massage & Advanced Reflexology.


Second Stewardess: Shelby Bailey

Shelby has a bubbly personality and a positive attitude. She is extremely hardworking as well as having great organisational skills. She is an eager and fast learner. Due to having been sole stewardess, she has gained a broad spectrum of skills and experience through all departments of the interior. Another positive skill set learned from her previous experiences is that she has also gained some basic knowledge in line handling, sail trimming, helming and tender driving. Shelby works well within a team and tries to keep the spirits and attitudes of the crew members high during difficult situations. Due to her enthusiastic energy, she maintains great relationships with both crew members and guests


Chief Engineer (on rotation): James Tarbard

James is committed and hardworking, with experience in an engineering environment both onboard yachts and commercial vessels, as well as within a busy ship-repair workshop. He has experience in maintenance, watch keeping and working closely with the other members of the crew carrying out orders and requests quickly and efficiently. James has also been responsible for updating organised records of maintenance and stock keeping. Maintaining good relationships with crew, owners and guests, he is dynamic and optimistic


Chief Engineer (on rotation): Pedro Morla Fernandez

Pedro built his way up from motorman (engine room watch) to cadet engineer, second engineer and finally chief engineer. In addition to hid mechanical and technical knowledge and practice, Pedro also has experience as open water diver (PADI 1st level), yacht skipper up to 12m length, and sailing instructor. Pedro works well in a team and is very conscientious.


Second Engineer: Ryan Bragg

Ryan is hard working marine engineer always looking to gain more engineering skills and more experience in the marine industry. Fully apprenticeship trained in the construction of yachts, he worked on board yachts up to 60 meters. Ryan also completed work from the building of a master stateroom on a 40 meter to the servicing of Caterpillar C9 generators. Very socializing, Ryan is reliable and always optimistic.


Deckhand: Shane Mark Keenan

Shane is a highly motivated person, fast learning and enjoys being challenged. Easy going, he likes working as part of a team. Shane has had a passion for sailing for a very long time and he loves being at sea and practice many watersports. His fitness level and strength are both excellent and give him the ability to cope well with physically challenging work. Shane aims to do every task to the best of his abilities and improve wherever possible.
